Matte black iron on the outside, gold on the inside. That single decision is what separates this from every plain black dome: the interior bounces warm light back down instead of absorbing it, so the glow arriving on a table has a golden cast rather than a flat white one.
The dome shape contains the source completely, which means no glare from a seated position underneath and a well-defined circle of light below. That makes it a genuine working fixture over a kitchen island or a dining table rather than only a decorative one, and it is why this shape has stayed in kitchens for a century.
Two diameters. At 30 cm it works in a run of two or three along an island, or singly over a small table. At 40 cm it becomes a statement over a larger dining table and needs the space around it. The hanging height is adjustable at installation; over a table, aim for 75 to 85 cm of clearance above the surface. The gold interior needs an occasional wipe to keep bouncing light rather than absorbing it, since kitchen grease dulls a reflective surface far faster than a matte one; a dry cloth is enough. Installation should be carried out by a competent person, with the circuit isolated before work begins.
