The shade is blown into the shape of an open flower, with ribbed petals and a scalloped edge, hung from a brass finish fitting. Light leaves along every petal rather than through a smooth curve, so the glass reads closer to a piece of period glassware than a modern pendant. The ribbing is formed in the glass itself, so there is no pattern to chip or peel with normal cleaning.
Colour changes the character completely. Green is the deepest and throws the most tinted light, which suits a dining room where the fixture is meant to be noticed. Gold is warmer and softer and works beautifully over a kitchen island. Transparent lets the most light through and is the safest choice if the pendant has to do real work rather than only look good. White diffuses most evenly of the four.
It takes a standard bulb, so the warmth and brightness are yours to choose, and a clear filament bulb sets the petals glowing individually. Over a dining table, hang it so the bottom of the shade sits around 75 to 85 cm above the tabletop. Installation should be carried out by a competent person, with the circuit isolated before work begins.
