Yellow Travertine Wall Sconce

Authentic yellow travertine paired with frosted glass. The stone is warmer in tone than the pale grey travertine used in most fixtures, and its pitted surface catches light along every edge rather than reflecting it evenly.

Frosted glass does the diffusing, so the light leaving the fixture is soft and even while the stone stays as the textured element beside it. That division of labour is what keeps the design clean: one material for looking at, one for the light. The stone is noticeably heavier than a moulded resin equivalent, which is part of why the light feels substantial rather than decorative once it's on the wall.

Because the stone is natural, the banding and pitting differ in every piece and no two are identical. Warm white at 2700 to 3500K is the only option and the right one; a cooler source would drain the yellow from the stone. It suits a bedroom, a hallway or a living room with natural materials elsewhere. Installation should be carried out by a competent person. Wipe the stone face with a dry cloth to keep dust from settling in the pitting, and avoid harsh cleaning sprays that can dull the frosted glass over time. A pair either side of a mirror or a bed reads as a matched set rather than two separate purchases.
