TouchBright Wireless Charging Lamp

A dimmable LED lamp with a wireless charging pad built into the base, so a phone set down beside the bed charges without a cable. Two objects that always end up on the same surface, combined into one, which frees the socket and removes a lead.

The lamp half is straightforward and well judged: soft warm light, dimmable across the range, bright enough to read by and low enough to be the last light on. Touch control means no switch to find in the dark and nothing to reach behind.

Two colours. Blue is the calmer and cooler of the pair, blue-grey rather than bright. Red is warmer and reads as a deliberate accent on a desk or a console. Set the phone squarely on the pad for reliable charging, and note that thick cases can interrupt it. The charging pad follows the Qi standard, so it works with most phones sold in recent years without a special case or adapter. A soft-start dimming curve means the lamp never jumps straight to full brightness, which suits it as the last light switched off at night. It runs from a standard UK three-pin plug, so no separate charging brick is needed alongside it, and the base is weighted enough to stay put when the phone is set down. Wipe the body with a dry cloth.
