The body is faceted acrylic on a metal base, cut so that a single light source inside multiplies into dozens of bright edges. Switched off it looks like a small piece of cut crystal; switched on it scatters light across a surface in a way a plain diffuser cannot. The metal base keeps the whole thing stable on a shelf, so a light knock will not send it sliding across a bedside table.
Five shapes, and they suit different rooms. The ball and the square are the most neutral and sit comfortably on a desk or a shelf in an adult bedroom. The star and the moon are softer and read as decorative, which makes them the obvious choice for a child's room or a nursery shelf. The track is the most sculptural of the five.
Touch control gives stepless dimming rather than fixed levels, and three colour modes cover warm, neutral and cool white, so the same lamp works as a late-night glow and a bright accent.
