Solar Globe Dimmable Wall Light

A round opal globe on a wall mount, powered by solar and switched by a light sensor rather than a timer. Sensing rather than timing is the better approach: it follows the actual daylight through the year instead of drifting out of step as the seasons change.

Opal glass diffuses fully, so the globe glows evenly and there is no bright point to catch the eye from a path or a neighbouring window. That even output is what makes a solar light look deliberate rather than improvised.
