Clean lines and a softly curved shade, with nothing applied to the surface and no visible hardware. The design is deliberately unremarkable in the best sense: it is meant to sit in a room for years without becoming dated or drawing attention away from what is on the table below it. The shade is finished in a single coat rather than layered lacquer, which keeps the colour flat and matte instead of glossy, so it reads as painted metal rather than plastic even up close.
The curve of the shade is what does the work. It gathers light and releases it downward with a soft edge rather than a hard-cut circle, so the transition between lit and unlit space is gentle. That suits a dining table, where a sharply defined pool of light can feel clinical.
Four colours. Black and white are the neutrals and the safest choices for a kitchen or dining room. Green is more decorative and works where the fixture is meant to be seen. Orange is the boldest of the four and best used singly rather than in a run. Hang the bottom around 75 to 85 cm above a tabletop. Installation should be carried out by a competent person.
