A cylindrical container divided into compartments that rotate on a central axis, so a different dry good is brought to the dispensing point with a turn rather than by opening a separate tub. That rotation is the whole idea and it saves both cupboard space and time. A quarter turn is enough to bring the next compartment level with the opening, so filling a measuring cup or a saucepan does not mean lifting the whole unit off the shelf.
The seal is what protects the contents. Moisture is what turns flour claggy and rice stale, and a proper airtight lid keeps both out for months, as well as keeping pantry moths from getting in at all.
