Portobello Wooden Mushroom Lamp

A mushroom form turned from smooth natural wood, with the cap glowing softly from beneath. Wood is unusual for this shape, which is usually glass or plastic, and it changes the character entirely: the lamp reads as an object first and a light second.

The glow is adjustable and low, which makes it a night light rather than a reading lamp. On a bedside table it gives enough light to move around by without waking anyone properly. On a shelf or a console it works as a small sculptural presence in the corner of a room.

Two sizes and two finishes. The 9 cm cap is a bedside accent; the 10 cm cap at 16.5 cm tall has more presence on a shelf. Walnut is deeper and more formal, natural wood lighter and calmer. Rechargeable, so it moves anywhere without a socket. A full charge lasts several evenings on the low setting, and the supplied USB-C cable means it tops up from any charger already in the house. Wipe the wood occasionally with a dry cloth to stop the grain drying out. The cap lifts off easily for cleaning inside, and the base has a soft pad on the underside so it does not mark a wooden shelf. Suitable for a child's room, though younger children should be supervised around it.
