A cylindrical body with a flat disc suspended below it, so light leaves the cylinder and reflects off the disc rather than falling straight down. That bounce softens the beam and spreads it wider than a plain cylinder would, which is the whole reason for the floating disc.

The geometry is deliberately architectural: two simple forms, a gap between them, and no detailing on either. It reads as a drawing rather than an object, which is why it works in a room that already has enough going on and needs the lighting to stay quiet.

Two diameters. At 20 cm it works in a run of two or three above an island or as a single point over a bedside. At 30 cm it becomes a proper fixture over a dining table. Black is the more graphic finish against a pale ceiling; white recedes almost completely. Both come with warm light. Installation should be carried out by a competent person, with the circuit isolated before work. Over a bedside, the 20 cm size sits low enough to read by without the cylinder itself being visible from a lying position.
