Wooden Bird LED Wall Sconce

Solid wood and wrought iron with a small ceramic bird perched on the arm. The bird is the only decorative element on an otherwise plain fixture, which is why it works: one small gesture rather than a design built around a novelty.

The light is warm and directed downward, so it falls on a bedside surface rather than washing the room. That makes it a reading light in practice, and the low output means it can stay on while someone else sleeps beside it.

Two finishes. Black is the more graphic of the pair and sets the wood and the ceramic bird in relief. White is quieter and lets the whole fixture recede into a pale wall until it is lit. A pair either side of a bed reads better than a single on a wide wall. The ceramic bird is fixed rather than removable, so there is nothing loose to dislodge when dusting the fixture. Solid wood is left with a light oil finish rather than a heavy lacquer, which keeps the grain visible under the warm light. The wrought iron arm is finished to match whichever colourway is chosen, so it does not stand out as a separate material against the wood. Installation should be carried out by a competent person, with the circuit isolated before work begins.
