Glass Ball Semi Flush Ceiling Light

A round glass shade on a short semi-flush mount, so the fixture sits just below the ceiling with the globe hanging clear of it. That small gap is what separates a semi-flush from a flush mount: it gives the shade a shadow line and lets it read as a sphere rather than a dome pressed against the plaster.

Two profiles change the proportion considerably. The glass is mouth-blown rather than moulded, so faint variations in thickness are normal and part of the material rather than a fault. Profile A is taller at 29 cm and reads as a proper hanging globe, which suits a hallway or an entrance where there is height to use. Profile B is shorter at 17 cm and sits closer to the ceiling, which is the safer choice in a bedroom or a room with a lower ceiling.

Both are 25 cm wide, and both come in smoke grey or amber. Smoke grey is cooler and more restrained and reads almost solid when unlit. Amber is warmer and turns an evening room golden. Either way the tinted glass makes this an atmosphere fixture rather than a bright one. Installation should be carried out by a competent person.
