A high-transmission glass globe on a refined metal fitting. High-transmission means the glass lets more light through than an ordinary shade at the same tint, so a coloured globe still gives usable light rather than only atmosphere.
Three glass options behave differently. Transparent gives the most light and shows the bulb, which suits a filament. Amber warms the room noticeably and is the classic evening choice. Smoke grey is the most restrained and reads almost solid when unlit, working as a sculptural object during the day.
Each comes in warm or cold white. Warm suits a dining room or a bedroom; cold white is clearer over a kitchen island or a worktop. A run of three along an island reads better than a single fixture. Over a table, hang the bottom around 75 to 85 cm above the surface. Each globe is mouth-finished, so faint variations in the glass are normal rather than a fault. The metal fitting is available in the same finish across all three glass options, which makes it straightforward to run a matching row of pendants along an island. A short flex allows the drop height to be trimmed slightly at fitting, rather than being fixed at one length. Installation should be carried out by a competent person, with the circuit isolated before work begins.
