Six trays on a wheeled metal frame, arranged so each level is offset from the one above. That offset is what makes it work: every plant gets light rather than sitting in the shadow of the one over it, which is the failure of most stacked plant stands.
The wheels are the second useful decision. A loaded plant stand is heavy and awkward, and being able to roll it means plants can follow the light through a room, move away from a radiator in winter, or be pushed aside to clean behind. It also makes watering easier, since the whole stand can go to the sink.
It works indoors on a landing, in a living room corner or by a window, and outdoors on a balcony or a patio in the warmer months. White is the lighter and more decorative finish; black recedes and lets the plants carry the colour. Assembly is straightforward with the supplied fittings. Bring it under cover through winter if it lives outside. The wheels lock individually, so the stand can be rolled to a window for the day and held still once in position rather than drifting on an uneven floor. Each tray has a shallow lip rather than a flat shelf, catching the worst of a watering-can overflow before it reaches the floor. Loaded with six pots it is heavier than it looks, so check the floor can take the weight on an upper level of a flat.
