Lunaris Wall Clock Light

A golden crescent that tells the time and lights the wall behind it. Two functions in one object, and the reason it works is that neither is bolted onto the other: the crescent form is the clock face and the light source at the same time, so nothing looks added on.

The illumination is ambient rather than task level, washing the wall around the crescent so the clock reads as a lit shape after dark. In a bedroom that means the time is visible at night without switching a lamp on. In a dining room it becomes a low background glow that works alongside the main lighting.

Warm white is the softer choice and suits a bedroom or a dining area, where it flatters the gold finish. Cold white is crisper and more graphic, and better in a hallway or a modern living room where the piece is meant to read as sculpture. It mounts flat to the wall with concealed fixings. Wiring should be carried out by a competent person, with the circuit isolated before work. Give it a clear stretch of wall: the crescent needs space around it for the wash of light to register, and the effect is lost when it is squeezed between shelves or picture frames.
