LumoClock LED Wall Clock

Two things in one object: a clock with a silent quartz movement, and a source of ambient light behind it. The LED washes the wall around the face, so at night the clock reads as a lit halo rather than a dark disc, and the numerals stay legible without a lamp on.

The face uses a raised 3D construction, so the markers stand proud of the background and cast their own small shadows under the LED. That is what gives it depth from across a room. In acrylic rather than glass, which keeps a 60 cm clock light enough to hang from a single fixing.

Three sizes cover very different walls. At 40 cm it works above a desk or in a hallway. At 50 cm it holds a bedroom or a dining wall. At 60 cm it becomes the focal point above a sofa, which is where the LED backlight earns its place in the evening. Warm white at 2700 to 3500K, which is soft enough not to keep anyone awake. The acrylic face resists scratching well enough for normal handling during hanging, and the backlight can be switched off independently of the clock movement if only the time display is wanted during the day. Runs on a standard battery with the LED powered separately.
