A hand-blown ribbed glass shade on brushed metal fittings. Hand-blowing is what gives the ribs their slight irregularity: the ridges are not machine-perfect, so the light refracting through them breaks unevenly and the shade has depth rather than a repeating pattern.

Two glass tones. Amber warms everything passing through it and turns an evening room golden, which suits a dining table or a bar. Transparent lets the most light through and shows the ribbing most clearly, making it the better choice where the pendant needs to work as light as well as decoration, such as above a kitchen counter.

Both come with warm white light, which is the right pairing for ribbed glass; a cold source flattens the effect and makes the shade look grey. The brushed metal fitting is matte rather than polished, so it does not compete with the glass. Fittings are a brushed brass-toned metal rather than chrome, which sits more comfortably alongside the warm amber glass option than a cooler finish would. A separate ceiling rose and short length of braided flex let the hanging height be set on site. Over a table, hang the bottom of the shade around 75 to 85 cm above the surface. Installation should be carried out by a competent person.
