A smooth metal dome with no seam, no rim detail and no visible fixing. The whole design rests on the curve being right, which is why the finish matters: matte rather than glossy, so the dome reads as a solid form rather than reflecting the room back at you. There is no visible seam because the dome is spun from a single sheet of metal rather than pressed in two halves and joined, which is part of why it holds the curve so cleanly.

Two diameters change its role. At 35 cm it works in a pair or a run of three above an island or a long table, and it is small enough not to dominate a modest dining room. At 45 cm it becomes a single statement fixture, and it needs the ceiling height and the table width to carry it without crowding the space.

Four colours, and they behave differently. Black is the most graphic against a pale ceiling. White is the quietest. Orange and wine red are the two that read as a decision rather than a default, and both work best as the single strong colour in an otherwise restrained room. The dome contains the source, so there is no glare from below. Installation should be carried out by a competent person.
