Amanita LED Mushroom Lamp

Modelled on the amanita, the spotted red-capped mushroom of every illustrated storybook, but rendered in a glossy sculptural finish rather than as a novelty. Lit, the cap glows from within and the whole form softens; unlit, it holds up as an object on a shelf, which is the harder test.

Two sizes with different jobs. At 20 cm tall it sits on a desk, a bedside table or a bookshelf as an accent among other things. At 30 cm it becomes a piece in its own right, better placed alone on a console or a low table where the silhouette has room to read.

The light is warm and diffused through the cap, so it works as a night light or an evening glow rather than as anything you would read by. As with any lamp kept within reach, keep an eye on younger children around it rather than leaving it as an unsupervised toy. The cap is a durable moulded resin rather than glass, which holds up to the occasional knock better than a more delicate material would.
