Flora Layered Dome Pendant

A dome built up in layers, each stepping slightly wider than the one above, so light escapes between the tiers as well as from the open base. That layering is what separates it from a plain dome: the glow has structure rather than falling as a single flat circle. Dust each tier separately with a dry cloth, working from the top layer down so debris does not settle on the steps below. Over an island, hang two or three at even spacing rather than clustering them, since the layered shape reads best with a little air around each one.

The curves are soft rather than sharp, which is the Scandinavian part of the design. It suits a kitchen, a dining room or a living space where the fixture should be noticed without dominating, and a run of two or three reads well along an island.

Four colours. Black and white are the neutrals and the safest over a dining table. Green is decorative and works in a room that already has colour. Orange is the boldest and best used singly. Over a table, hang the bottom around 75 to 85 cm above the surface. Installation should be carried out by a competent person, with the circuit isolated before work begins.
