EcoStack Wheat Straw Bento Box

Three stacking layers giving 900 ml in total, made from wheat straw composite with food-grade PP. Wheat straw is a by-product of grain harvesting rather than a virgin plastic, which is what makes it the more considered choice for something replaced every year or two. Wheat straw composite is noticeably lighter than an equivalent stainless steel stack, which matters if the box is carried loose in a bag rather than in a dedicated case.

Stacking rather than dividing is the practical difference. Each layer is a separate sealed container, so a hot main can travel above a cold salad without warming it, and one layer can be taken out and reheated on its own. Each layer can be reheated separately in a microwave once the lid is removed, so a hot main does not have to wait for a cold layer to be dealt with first.

Utensils are included and stow with the box. At 900 ml across three layers it suits a child's lunch with snacks or a lighter adult meal. It is lightweight enough for a school bag and durable enough for daily use. Check the layers are locked together before it goes in a bag, and supervise younger children with the utensils. The layers nest together neatly for storage.
