Acrylic Sphere Wall Lamp

A luminous acrylic sphere set against a flat iron panel. The panel is what makes the design work: it catches the light behind the sphere and throws a halo onto the wall, so the fixture reads as two elements playing off each other rather than a ball on a bracket.

Round or square changes the character considerably. The round panel echoes the sphere and reads softer and more classical. The square panel sets the curve against a hard edge and reads more architectural, which suits a modern hallway or a room with strong lines already in it.

White and black panels, each in warm or cold light. White with warm light is the softest combination and the safest in a bedroom. Black with cold light is the most graphic and best on a feature wall. Choose the panel shape, the colour and the light temperature before ordering, since the LED is integrated. Installation should be carried out by a competent person. Mounted at roughly eye level either side of a bed, a pair reads as a matched set rather than two separate lights, and the flat panel sits close enough to the wall that it will not catch a shoulder in a narrow room. Wipe the acrylic sphere and the panel with a dry cloth to keep the surface clear and free of fingerprints.
